Arranging Workshop 9:30-11:30 a.m. Accompaniment Workshop 1:15-3:15 p.m. Karen will offer an intermediate/advanced group hammered dulcimer class using a beautiful, new waltz in G by Belgian piper Wim Poesen. The morning workshop will focus on arranging the waltz. We will break for a potluck vegetarian lunch and the afternoon session will work on an accompaniment. This tune has a lovely descending scale, allowing many 10th harmonies and a beautiful chord progression and bass line, just made to show off the dulcimer! July 11-16 - Karen will teach a half day class for Irish dulcimer and also in the children's program at the Catskills Irish Arts Week. A good turnout is important if there is to be a dulcimer program there. The program allows time to take a half day of whistle (cheap and easy), concertina or accordion (more expensive, harder), dancing and more! Realistically if you want to play in Irish sessions you need a back-up instrument for when there isn't room or your instrument isn't in tune. This camp allows you to do both!
