Liner Notes
In 1976 at age 16, Karen built a hammered dulcimer from scratch. Soon afterwards with dulcimer in tow, she left her home in Rochester, New York to search for Irish music and adventure. In five years overseas, Karen traversed the globe twice and eventually settled in the Washington, DC/ Baltimore area, renowned for its Irish music. It was spring, the streets were lined with flowering trees, and the area was blossoming with brilliant musicians. This live recording marks Karen's 30th anniversary as a dulcimer player, teacher and advocate, and celebrates some of her rich musical
partnerships developed over the years.
